After a year and a half of dating, both Cash and I knew that we wanted to eventually be married. And though we were each others best friends, we never specified a time of when we would make that next step...
There was nothing unusual about me taking Cash to the airport on the morning of November 9th. He travelled for business often and I loved to see him off or pick him up. Cash got his luggage out of the car and we quickly said our goodbyes. As I turned to get into the car Cash said, "Wait. I left a bag in the car". He got the luggage out, put it in front of me and said, "This one is yours." I must have looked really confused because Cash said, "You're coming with me". When I asked where we were going, he said there was a hint inside my bag. I opened it to find a map of Florence Italy!!!! All I could think was how this wasn't really happening to me. And what about my family? I had to call them to tell them I was leaving the country! And my luggage.. Didn't I need a few shirts and a toothbrush? No, because it had all been planned perfectly. Cash reassured me that my parents had known for weeks and my sister had packed my bags that morning so I wouldn't have noticed anything missing from my closet. My ordinary morning had been transformed into a most wonderful surprise. . .
I was going to Italy!
